Parish Clerk to the WCC
Parish Council |
|
|
High Street Farm, Upper Dean, Huntingdon Cambridgeshire |
|
|
Liz and I
moved to Upper Dean from Loughton in Essex in December 1999 and realised a
long held ambition to keep our horse on our own land. For over 40
years I have been in the construction industry as a quantity surveyor or
commercial manager. Recently, I
have qualified as an Assessor for National Vocational Qualifications, working
for a company in Wyboston. I am also
the Clerk to the Dean & Shelton Parish Council and currently I am working
towards gaining the Certificate in Local Council Administration. I ride as
much as possible, like to play cricket whenever I’m asked and have an
interest in genealogy having carried out a lot of research into both our
family trees. |

Married to Susie, we have 4
adult children and two grandchildren. We moved to Colesden 3½ years
ago after living in Mid Bedfordshire for a number of years. The main reason for our
move was to enjoy the quiet rural environment of Colesden and the surrounding
area. After more than 40 years
working within the commercial field of large international businesses, I am
retiring at the end of April 2007. My main issues are road safety, the preservation of our local environment and the enjoyment of an enhanced quality of life for people of all ages. |

Roy and his family moved
from Edgware in Middlesex to Great Barford in 1969,
where they remained for the next 26 years before moving to Colesden 12 years
ago. He is married to Pat, with two daughters and four grandchildren. Was apprenticed at 17, and studied to be an Electronic Engineer. Travelled extensively worldwide for a multi-national manufacturing company, building typesetters for the printing industry. Made a career change some ten years ago into the Corporate Office world as an IT Support Engineer before taking early retirement in December 2005. Now appreciates having time to stop, enjoy and really wonder at the incredible world we all live in. |

My wife Anne and I moved to
Colesden in February 2003 for a quieter environment away from the overcrowded
roads of Hertfordshire. We have 4 children who have their own homes around
the UK and 3 grandchildren. Prior to moving here I was
the Operations Director of an electrical surge protection company. We now
have a small farm with our carriage driving ponies and a growing herd of
Dexter cattle. I have always had a love of our countryside and am keen to help maintain the environment of our villages. I joined the Parish Plan working group a year ago and am now its chairman. I now have the opportunity to continue this as a member of our new Parish Council. |

I was born in
Harrow, and i moved to Bedfordshire in 1987 I am
married to Mark and we have 3 children I spent my
early work years working for a bank and then moved into working in the
Voluntary Sector where I met Mark. After a health scare we decided to set up
our own business and we moved to Begwary, where we
started growing plants and vegetables. We moved in Wyboston
in 2005, which is where we run our vegetable box delivery scheme and we also
have a farm shop at Roxton Garden Centre. I am
passionate about keeping and providing facilities for all our villagers be
they young or old. |
